This is an option that most of us have considered when thinking about bringing up children. There is however, a number of things you should take into account -
- Are you suited to working from home?
- Can you cope without much outside interaction?
- Are you disciplined enough to have the right work-life balance and not merge the boundaries between work and home?
- What type of child care will you need?
- Will what you earn be enough to cover the child care costs?
- Are you intending to look after the kids and work from home? If so how much time realistically will you have to spare?
- Where will you work - will it interfere with your home life?
- What is your skill set and what can you market yourself on?
The above are only some of the questions you need to ask yourself. I have trawled the net for sites that are specifically for home workers. Below are a few that I have found. Some require you to join and pay a commission for work found or a set fee for access to their work databases. If you are interested in joining any of these agencies please contact them direct to find out more.
-
elance - a freelance job web site where you can submit bids for work. There is a membership fee however.
